H.D. LOGiC is a caregiver. He also is the voice of “Juke,” a man in his late-20s with autism and profound intellectual disability who lives in a group home for people with disabilities.
Juke loves songs, his pet dogs and cats, fashion, and going out with family and friends. He has no use for most tv, computers (except in their capacity to play songs), the alphabet, and rude people. Juke enjoys anything mechanical, particularly escalators and wheelchairs, and watching himself–no matter what he’s doing–in a mirror. His favorite thing is soaking in a hot bath after a full day of activity.
Juke uses about 30 words and various signs and noises to communicate, and he has a lot to say. Once you take the time to converse with Juke, you have a friend forever, and he is happy to share life’s secrets if asked.
Juke cannot tell his story, but his story is worth telling. This is where H.D. LOGiC is required:
~ Whenever reason without language or math
and be sensational ~
As the surrogate for a separate consciousness, H.D. LOGiC is, of course, anonymous.
H.D. LOGiC donates to The Arc, a national organization advocating and serving people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families.
